WANTED: GX/GR Exhaust midsection or catback exhaust

Postby Temeeo » Sat Mar 19, 2016 6:24 pm

I'm looking for GX/GR exhaust midsection in decent condition mine is about to break into two and is letting fumes into interior. Alternatively I would consider entire catback if somebody had one for sale (stainless)?

Could be a good time to upgrade? Might even cost you less.

Exhaust upgrade was on cards but not so soon as there are other bits that I wanted to get sorted first... :(

Sadly I think this puppy is beyond saving, don't think there is much left there to weld Seb. There used to be exhaust repair putty sitting over the section but that has now fallen off and revealed the extend of the damage. I would say if I poke into it there would be a two inch gap between the muffler and the pipe that goes to back box... :(

Measure how long is the whole silencer including 100mm excess for the rotten part of the pipe and get this:

or if its more than 250mm go for this:

or this? lol

http://www.ebay.ie/itm/63-5mm-2-5-STAIN ... Sw1x1URPU2

or mild steel if you plan to upgrade exhaust next year or 2 years?

That's handy that that you can get small quantities like that! Did a little job on it yesterday and it's better than new now! Only kidding, but at leat I can drive the car now without fumes getting inside and fear that it's going to snap in two!

While I was under the car I discovered another hole so patch it up as well
