Yet another Air Con Thread....

Postby akkakkman » Fri Jun 01, 2012 9:19 pm

Hi Lads, read through a few of the aircon threads on here and almost found what I wanted to know :D
The magnetic pulley is not engaging when the aircon is switched on, I don't know what way the gas is (full / empty)

So there are two wires going to the compressor. Multimeter on the one with the smaller connector (pink/blue wire) gives me 12v other one with the larger connector (yellow wire) gives me nothing and doesn't look like it is a ground wire either.

There is a reply from steelroe in this thread:
http://www.fto-ireland.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7675&hilit=supply+power+directly+to+the+clutch

And Kace and CJ in this thread:
http://www.fto-ireland.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3649&p=23620&hilit=air+con#p23620

That talk about a test to check if the compressor is working, but don't give full details of this test.
So there's two things to check;
1. The connectors are supplying correct signals (but what are they !)
2. Override and provide my own signals (again what should they be, there are 2 wires !)

Don't want to blow anything but I'm guessing supply 12v to both wires...in the hope that the second isn't a feedback wire of some kind :?

Any help greatly appreciated. Its getting hot out there :mrgreen:

I've no gas in mine at all, when changing the matrix NOTHING came out :mrgreen:

Fair play for having a search around first with so few posts, and welcome!

Reckon the magnetic clutch signal to engage is the red/blue wire based on a schematic for a completely different mitsubishi here..

Probably the magnetic clutch thingy so, and at £240 from Camskill it can stay broken... :mrgreen:

Welcome to the site. Have a good look over the FTO electrical wiring manual @ http://www.fto-ireland.com/downloads.html , theres bound to be a detailed diagram in there for the a/c system.
