My S2000 for Sale - SOLD

Postby TopCat » Wed Oct 20, 2010 7:12 pm

Hi All,

Well, I only ever intended to keep this car for a few months anyway, but I've grown pretty attached to it, so its made this decision very hard. But, my S2000 is now officially up for sale. :(

Basic details.. Its a black '00 Honda S2000, red leather interior, 92k miles, and passed through NCT (on first attempt) just a fortnight ago, so that's sorted until 09-2012. Other than the brake pad/discs upgrading (here), the car is just kept clean and standard. New tyres on the back recently (and they're the proper Bridgestones spec'd for the car), and front have very little wear too. Last owner informed me the roof was replaced about a year ago, so that's in great condition too. So overall, the car want's for nothing.

Some of you know the reputation of this type of car is like to drive (and some know first hand :) ), so I'll just say its a joy and leave it at that.

Now looking for €7,900, so makes it one of the best priced examples available.

But do really like this car, so I won't be disappointed if I have to keep it for another while. :)

Anyway, any questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks for the nice comments lads.
Yeah, it'll be hard to let it go, but I had to really stretch to buy it in the first place, but it was well worth it for even the few months of driving it. But seen as it's just flew threw the NCT, I reckon its as good a selling point as any. I was confident buying the car it was mechanically sorted, so that just confirmed it, and will put any potential buyer at ease in that respect.

Price Drop - Now €7,900. But won't be going lower anytime soon, I think it's very well priced at that.
Got an offer of a swap for a 2002 Porsche Cayanne! Not what I'm after, don't suppose any of you are interested in something like that? Seems a bit cheap if he meant a straight swap, bit too good to be true me thinks!

That's a little on the cheap side for an '02 Cayenne, but not mind bogglingly so.

Hi All,
Decided to renew my effort to move on the car, so dropping the price to €7,900.

Based in Galway these days if anyone wants a look, and I might be interested in a trade for something like a 320d or A4.
As always, if you've any questions just let me know,

Cheers,

Tom

Gone, my lovely little toy is gone. :smt005
I'll miss it, and it certainly won't be my last. Been a faultless car since I got it, if anyone is every tempted, just go for it, they're a cracking drivers car!

Anywho, I know the next question, and no Martin, not another hairdressers car

Looking down the diesel *yawn* route, and maybe going over to the UK to get a nice spec. Watch this space :)

Well for some reason everyone on facebook is trying to convince you to buy an M3 Tom, I personally don't see the buzz about them, sure they're a good fast car but they don't look anything majorily different to an ordinary BMW, which all look the same in my eyes, and the tax is stupid in them, and they're becoming common as muck, same as BMW in general in Ireland. When you do decide to get something in time, go for sometime different anyway, thats the reason I'm going to stick to my '90s Jap sports cars, another 300ZX is my next toy in time, get it on classic tax and insurance and it'll be still cheap to run. Daily driver will be something boring all right, but thats the whole idea of having a second car. At the end of the day its easy for people to say buy such a car because they like it, its your decision and preference what you actually get, no one else can choose it.

M3 is out of the question. I do really like them, and will own one some day, but couldn't afford a decent one. What I'm getting now will be a boring car, and not a looker, (and probably german, sorry Stew) but I'm happy with that, for a while anyway. I've had that type of car before, and they serve a certain purpose very well. And it'll hopefully help save a few quid, so the second car will hopefully be an option down the line, and something down the older jap route is definitely an strong possibility (RX, Supra or 300ZX, something with big power for a weekend blast)

But sure you wouldn't get classic tax on the 300ZX etc for a few years yet? Thats the killer right now.

The Z32 was around in 1989, the ones I'd be looking at would be a 1990, I think I read on some forum that the '89 ones had some issue, can't remember what now and it mightn't have been universal, so a 1990 one would be 21 years old now, and go along the right route and you'll get it classic all right as she is. Its finding a pure standard TT manual in red is the killer! Oh and Jap spec as well, so it has the Z badge, very fussy about that! Anyway the Z is my toy so find your own to play with! :D

You can get classic insurance, but for tax I think it needs to be 30y.o.
