Removing surface from upper pod

Postby CJ » Mon Jul 21, 2003 8:27 pm

I did a spray job on the upper intrument pod a while ago, but some of the surface cover bubbled up. The top coat is a thin rubber like material while underneath is tougher rubber. Does anyone know of a solvent that would strip the upper material off?

Be very careful using solvent as a lot of them will burn the rubber and destroy the console. Maybe try some cellulose paint thinners on a patch on the inside of the console. This thinners wilol remove paint but hopefully not the rubber

I'll give it a shot Rory, but I actuallt want to remove the top rubber coat as well, maybe acrylic paint remover might do the job?
