But it will be a different story once I have sorted my boost issue out. I went out with Jinglis in his 310bhp fwd fto and it's an animal he has a cusco LSD I think. The guy is a 6'3" rugby player and he had to hold on lol. The power goes down quite well tbh. I am sorting out the overheating issues you get with this conversion ATM. So add to the list.
Oil cooler, ali radiator, high flow fans, vented bonnet, heat wrap, and engine ice.

thanks for the great info.iv seen that evo 4wd job. alot of work there. .

Myfeckin FTO wrote:Some excellent info there. Really not surprised to hear a figure of 5K GBP for the transplant (and that wouldn't include the 4WD drivetrain). Even after you fit the VR4 block you'd probably have to look at oil coolers, LSD and upgraded suspension and a big brake kit. I personally would bother with the 4WD idea Danny - a good LSD and 300bhp + will be plenty entertaining.

well for now im running with a fwd with the leggy gearbox, turbo upgrade's and will look at the rear end when the bigger job is done.

Hi guys only new to this...sitting in sunny cyprus at the moment, however the poor auto legnum vr4 is sitting at home with what i thaught was a wrecked cambelt bearing. Has anyone come accross this problem? it starts knocking at about 1.5 rpm sounds like bottom end noise but coming from the t.belt cover?? please advise..cheers

Can we please have loads of pics and step by step details on this build pleeaasse!
I'm pretty happy someone has finally decided to be the Irish FTO forum guinea pig on this one - now that FTO's and VR4's have reached rock bottom prices its really starting to make sense.

yes. sorry .ill try my best. taking the stuff out no one will really need.so ill try take as much as i can on the birth of engine and work when it's going in the fto.
and yes the price's of fto's is madness now. it's really sad to see a car like that go for so little.almost make's it not worth the work at the same time when it will be worth very little. . ill just have to keep it.no point selling.

If a ramp can't be found, a hole in the ground will work too. I got me one of those trollies but even the trollie jack doesnt lift the car enough to get under it from the front. You'd want to be a skinny fecker to work under the FTO, because the bumper really gets in the way, unless you're just lying flat on the ground. I ended up using the cardboard box from the trolly instead of the trolly itself. I think I will be getting a set of those mini ramps next time.

Hole in the ground isnt ideal, lighting isnt great as well as safety issues.
Dont think there used that much anymore.

I was just reminded about the underseal project mustang did using a hole in the ground. :) Thats why I mentioned it.
