My renewal

Postby ottostreet » Sun Aug 25, 2013 1:57 am

Having got a ridiculous renewal quote of over 1500 euro on the Version R, I did some ringing around. Didn't look into classic insurance as I'm not buying another car, so just to insure the FTO.

Rang quite a few (I've a list at home)...only got one quote...1100 quid.

Bargained, pleaded and rang Liberty every day for a week saying I got cheaper elsewhere. Got them down to 700. Not too bad, I suppose. Would have preferred around 500.

That's a pretty good result. A few hundred more than I am paying, but that's a much bigger percentage drop than I got.

Thanks

I renewed with Liberty, and paid in full as well to avoid pesky interest.

I'm 25, 6 years NCB, full licence 5 years, male, clean licence, driving a 97 FTO GPvR. First insured an FTO at 21, and I've always had reasonable quotes, once I actually get one. 700 is very reasonable I think. Last year driving an FTO fulltime though I think
