Yeah, I think its gonna be the 16th/17th weekend, so apologies to all those it does suit. There are more names down for it, and it looks like the easiest weekend to get accommodation. Of those names down, I'm going to assume a B&B or cheap and cheerful hotel will do, if not, please get back to me.

Hi all.

Silly question coming. In work here and was wondering if the surfing was wave surfing on a board (you know you just surf the waves (body surfing is it?) or is it the surfing where you stand up and hold onto the sail thingy??????

Sorry now, hope you know what I mean . :D :D

Body surfing is another thing again, thats where there is no board or equipment at all. "Regular" surfing (what I was suggesting) is the surfing with just a board, and the last one you are talking about where you hold onto a sail is Wind surfing. Never tried the wind surfing, looks trickier though.

Hope that helps. :)

Ok, I've been on to the Scanta Marie hotel. It is literally a couple minutes walk from the beach... http://www.sancta-maria.ie/
It not 5-star luxury by any means, but they'll give us B&B for €45 a head for a group of 6-10 people, which I think isn't a bad rate considering the location. Its cheap and cheerful and will keep us all in the same spot. If you have your name below (or want to add your name) and want this option, please put (H) after your name ASAP as I want to ring to confirm in the next day or two.

I'll make a phone call about the surfing in a little while and get back to you.

C'mon Laura, please let Bernard out to play. I'm not saying all of FTO-Ireland will hate you otherwise, but..

Hotel
Ok, was just on to the hotel there. They have a resturant, so if we want to have dinner there they'll do us a deal. (Can suss that out later).

Unfortunately there is no residents bar.. boo. But she assured me "..every second door is a pub, and if ye're not making trouble, they'll leave ye there 'til mornin".. yey! :smt003

Surf
Was on to lahinch surf school, and lessons are €40 ( 2 hours I think). All you need to bring is yourself and swim gear, boards and wetsuit provided. There is a session available at 12:30 and again around 2:30 and 3:30. So let me know what your thoughts are on that.
