Been playing with some Carbon Fiber

Postby d_dan » Mon Jul 25, 2011 7:18 pm

Thought Id throw this up for the laugh while i'm on.
Moved house 2 weeks ago and came across some parts I had knocking about so decided to attack them with some 2x2 twill real carbon fiber.

That upper console is a pain to do, broke my heart trying to get it right with the kevlar.

The twin dials on the upper console are one of the most distinctive thing about the FTO interior.
It's a real shame to destroy it.

I didn't even notice that you chopped them off! That took the hard part out of it. Might look ok, would have to see them on to be sure, but definately makes the carbon look more uniform, its around those gauges that I had all the problems.

I didn't bend mine, I actually cut a piece to fit into the gauges and then joined it up as best I could with the outer piece, hard to do and even taking all the time and care in the world to do it the slightest thing can make it not look perfect.
