Any gamers out there?

Postby CJ » Mon Sep 22, 2003 9:11 pm

I've been hooked on PC based multiplayer games since the dawn of Quake, has anyone else wasted hundreds of hours playing 'net based games over the past few years?
I never really got into the consoles as I could never get involved in single player games all that much, each to their own I suppose.

I've worn the controls off my Playstation2 controller playing GT4 and FPS games like Metal Gear solid series and the Medal of Honour series.

The XBox hasn't fared any better with Halo and Halo 2.

I am now able to get by on 4 hours sleep a night thanks to extended runs on both platforms into the early hours of the morning over the past few years.

I've had "Playstation thumb" on more than a few occasions.

Whoa, two year old thread update alert! Since I posted this message, I've pretty much given up on gaming, I just don't have the time, inclination, hardware or skillz anymore!

Noticed the date alright - But it was bumped up by Saoirse so it's fair game.

As mentioned before this "replying to a 2/3 year old thread" is good craic - most people don't notice esp if its in and around the aniversary of the first post. I'll see if I can land one on some unsuspecting peeps over the next week.

Actually I ended up getting one with out the USB and Display.. but otherwise it looks the same.
The Xbox is the "crystal edition" which basically means see through case and blue leds :-) we like the blue LEDS...looks like..well..blue really! ;-)
The box has a 250gb harddrive in it...It'll play all my DivX movies and backup rented games - just incase somebody scratches all 100 copies at xtravision..

Amazing yoke..

Was playing Doom3 all night last night...completely messed me up...was all twitchy afterwards.

Can't wait till the 360 is out .. and somebody sticks a chip in it so it'll "play imports" ;-)

They're pretty amazing allright. If you haven't got burnout Revenge yet get it, its absolutely brilliant. Its the fastest car game I've ever played anyway.

Nearly picked up Doom 3 on my last trip, but trying to keep away, too much work to do! The Mac version is out, right? My Wintel P3 laptop might struggle with it...

Not too familiar with what's out for MAC and what isn't..I have an old G3 sitting around in Denmark..but I never really used it much..
Pretty sure it would be fairly hard running it on a p3 - it's one of the most demanding games evah...apparently the Xbox version is heavily scaled down and you only really get the full whack on a super-duper-monster pc.

While I'm wating for one of those I'm playing this:

Damn cyber-squatters! How much were you looking for the domain? I would imagine it was a load of money if they took you to court!

well i was looking for 10k irish, but they said no and threatned to take me to court for registering a trademark name, should i have been smart at the time and got advice i would have won, as there was no trademark in europe for alienware, as it was amercian based company, they would have had to pay me what ever i accepted, if i had said it was a site for personal use, they would have had to up up the compensation and up it until i agreed, could have been very wealthy now but ah well, i settled for ameasly 250 irish lol

Hello

Postby supastu » Thu Jan 19, 2006 12:36 am

Hello

Have you tried Forza on the xbox, pure class, although the FTO handling suffers more than some of the cars, when modified.

Halo 1 and 2 are ace, but I reckon the third should be good on the new xbox.

Cheers

I've bought Forza Motorsport and Halo 2, thing is I can't play 'em on my Xbox 360 until I get the hard drive (one on the way to me at the moment).
