Miss Firing FTO

Postby Ferglar » Fri Feb 27, 2004 7:26 pm

Hi all, first time on here!! i hope someone can help ease my worries!

I recently bought my first FTO, a GR. i love driving it and find it great fun. But the other day a warning light came on to signal the exhaust was over heating! after crapping my pants i found it was due to miss firing ( which was also causing a bit of a jerky ride!).

If anyone else has had this problem could they tell me how to resolve it? (or how long til my car blows up)

Fergus, London

P.S need it back to peak perfomance! whooped a T reg M3 the other day, Serious Fun!!!

Ferglar, are you refereing to the exhaust warning light coming on? If so, it cold be a dodgey lambda sensor. The jerky ride/misfiring problem you describe could be caused by a malfunctioning fuel pump, the fuel filter may also need changing. Any decent mechanic should be able to work out whats going on. Let us know if you find out the cause.
