Honda NSX - What's the verdict?

Postby Muad_dib77 » Mon Jan 23, 2006 12:20 am

Was just watching an old episode of top gear on one of those UKtv channels. Saw the NSX - had completely forgotten what an amazing looking machine it is. Long backend - sporty looking front.. 3liter honda power - 270-280bhp at 7200->7400rpm ( I think)..RWD..Surely a combination that would send most people salivating?

I'm loving it to bits..

Found a few pics but I'm on 56k at the moment..Will post them tomorrow when I'm in work.

I've only actually ever seen 1 in the flesh, when I was up in Dublin a few months back... It is a nice looking car, and from what I've read/heard it has performance to match. I would definately like a spin of one sometime.

There's an NSX in Celbridge, Kildare. It's red with a black roof. I live in the same estate as the guy who owns the car & you can hear hime drive in and out every day from a fair distance away. There's a serious exhaust system on it. It's the one that's featured on http://www.icetronix.com/index.aspx?page=projectcars_nsx. It's a '91 car but is fantastic looking. Could pass for being 3 or 4 years old.

I love the NSX to bits, you can pick up an early 90s model for the price of a new family saloon, not supercar money for supercar performance...

wow that Red/Black 91 looks sweet. I wasn't actually sure if there were any at all in the ROI. I suppose they don't come on auction very often - and VRT must be a bit Random.. :-)

Here's a link with a pile of pictures :-)

Fantastic car with running costs not too dissimilar to the aformentioned Supra TT. Incredible handling and presence.
Def not a day to day car though if you live in the West of Ireland.

The Type R version of the NSX (NSX-R) would be one of my all time favorite cars.

There's a guy/gal up around step/enniskerry direction who own's a red 1991 - used to see it parked up at westwood a lot. Beautiful car with looks that never seem to age - saw it recently fly across a crossroads and it looked/sounded sweet. Would love to get my hands on one but for the money I'd rather a 964 911..... at the risk of going off topic I saw this beauty for sale....

I've seen 3 or 4 around Dublin for many years now. Most are 91-96.
Verdict - Class 8)

You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen, it said 'Parking Fine'.

(sound like my girlfriend there!! ) it was christmas day just gone and there was a light fog on the road, it tore pass me with a lovely swirling vortex in the fog !!! class machine, but i'd save up and get the original exaust put back on

you all see get away in stoclkholm 3? It's a honda NSX as the main car... It seems quick alright, but not supercar quick... It's a great looking car for early 90s though. the interior is a bit plain though. still, would love a spin in one. :)

btw, I didn;t mean the interior in the type R (which looks absolutely savage)

Mr Senna's input into the development of the car might have something to do with his somewhat unconvincing overuse of 'very good'.

Still great looking car.....the later models without the pop up headlights.
Way too overpriced though!

So he's put a facelift bumper on an original shape NSX, The fit is shocking. You could drive a bus through those panel gaps.

It's a new Air vent, the air flow will help keep the front end more down force.

I'd be a little more concerned about the types hovering around this car...... abundance of hoodies, track suits, trainers, gold high heels.......gives the motor a real high class aura.

The sad reality is that these kind of meets generally attract a load of scobies - it's one reason why I always avoid them (that and the fact I'm a lazy git)

Not the best facelift conversion I've seen, an NSX is not the sort of car you want to mod with fibreglass and the like...

Just noticed the back end of an RX7 to the left in the second pic ;)
