Just wondering, anyone have any experience of Saabs? Late 90s 9-3 or something similar... not thinking about changing or anything, but its a car I might find myself in some day down the road methinks...

I know the depreciation on them is frightening, and got a spin of one once (briefly), and remember thinking it was a very nice drive.

Drove a SAAB 9000 once (Waay back) was like driving a house.. Remember thinking it was REALLY quick - but then all I had to compare to back then was a Daihatsu..
Loads of room though..

I was tempted by one once, but when I worked out I'd be paying something like 5k a year on the loan, and the car would be losing 4k a year in depreciation, it put me off it quick enough.

I've driven an '02 9-3 Turbo Conv and an '05 9-3 Turbo conv - both felt really ponderous to drive and not particularly quick. Very comfortable cars though and I particularly like their interiors (leather a must have).

If I had to - it would have to be the "Viggen" or maybe something like this - http://www.carzone.ie/usedcars/index.cf ... rID=343530

I test drove a SAAB 9-3 Turbo last year with a notion to buying one...I work in architecture, so it's almost compulsary to own one at some stage..... lovely comfortable car with a bit of style and prestige but without the ooph of a Mivec FTO. I would have bought it if the agent dropped the price a couple of K.
Also tried a cheaper 9000 but I felt like a 60 year old Doctor on call to the rural old folk!

I do know that the older Saabs are the joy riders joice around Bolton/Manchester area, fast-ish and easy to steal, worth bearing in mind
