NCT results question

Postby stevec » Mon Sep 10, 2007 2:21 pm

Did the NCT on Friday and passed 8)

The only concern I have is on the rear brakes:
NS 0.90kN / OS 1.21kN = 26% imbalance (30% limit)

The disc / pads look OK so is this a sign there may be a problem in one of the rear calipers?

Anyone got figures that for these from their own test?

Another question: Anyone know what the ovality figures mean?

I think ovality is a measure of a brake drum being off shape. don't know what it means on a disc or why/how they'd measure it though.

What did it fail on - brake effort or imbalance?

Is it the same crap as with the shocks - if one is good and the other is knackered you fail wheras if both are equally knackered then you pass

You'll get one for a fraction of that price from Steelroe or RiceRocket.

Is it worth getting new calipers for a 12 year old FTO? A nice set of reconditioned calipers will be as good as a new set.
