lambda sensor

Postby pergau » Fri Apr 20, 2007 4:34 pm

My P&J failed the NCT yesterday. Emissions were through the ozone layer and the Lambda value was off.

I suspect (well I hope) that this is due to a faulty Lambda sensor but Camskills want £266 for one. Where can I get a universal Lambda sensor and how do I fit it?

Hi,
I had the same problem. I picked up a universal 4 wire lambda sensor on ebay ...something like this one: http://cgi.ebay.ie/NEW-Universal-DAEWOO-4-Wire-Oxygen-Lambda-sensor-o2_W0QQitemZ4606164386QQihZ002QQcategoryZ100910QQcmdZViewItem
Then using the instructions from Mr Bishi here:
http://www.ftooc.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=556907#556907 I got Paul Nolan to fit it whilst the car was in for a service.
Cheers,
Paul

Thanks Paul,

I think it is worth a go - cheaper than a CAT.

Why are the camskill lambda sensors so expensive in comparision to these ones mentioned above on Ebay. I was considering changing mine but then look at the price which is far from puurrrfect (Hey Muad :) )

theres no reason for it... Marketing.. I changed the lambda in my alfa twice over 4 years. once with alfa which cost 160euro... and once I bought generic one online. They are the same. both made by bosch.. just one is sold as an "alfa" part... total rip off....

bought mine here for 98euro all in...
