rev per min

hi i noticed my rev is ticking to 2500rev/min at a speed of 100kph, is this low or normal? The mechanics who changed my auto-gear box told me that i should sell my fto bcoz of this? any idea? Thanks

Why did he tell you that? Was it a Mitzi dealer?

his not from mitsubsh, he owned a garage in enfield from where my gear box broke down ( he charged me 1200 for the second hand gear box and labor). He said because of its low rev... at high speed? :?:

doesn't sound to bad don't forget the 4th gear on the 4sp tip boxes are very long from 50klm to if delimited 260klm

Mine runs between 2500 and 3000 at 100kph and running perfectly, so think your mechanic is talking **##*#
mmmm!! GPX........and its not all mine anymore....:-(

If there was any issue it would be with the gearbox this mechanic put in the car - sounds like a fairly long 4th gear ratio alright but its not an indication of anything wrong with the car. What is your 4th gear acceleration like?

Agreed, this guy obviously doesn't know a lot about the FTO, the V6 engine runs low RPM in the mid range under normal circumstances.
