Postby Johnk » Sat Dec 26, 2009 11:47 pm

Some of ye would have met her (Shauna) well here it goes ------------ Was last night around 7.30 (christmas night) Was down in elaine's sister house and shauna fell off the bed and hit a door which had the old time handle on it which stuck out about 2"-3" she hit her belly and ripped a hole in it from her belly button to her hip about 4" long 1.5" deep and 1" wide, My god i taught we had lost her still not the best of it, anyway got to the hospital and they had to call in a specialist as did not know how much damage was done to her or her organ's, after about 1:30 hour's they came out and told us everything was ok that the opt had gone very well and no organ's were damage thank god I don't think i have ever been so scared in my life but at least it all end well not long back and just needed to let out a bit when i got the other's to bed please say a paryer for her Thank's John A day that started off with so much joy ended so bad for her

Christ sounds scary John!

Hope she has a speedy recovery and that it all works out well, no doubt it will once the op went well and of course that there was no damage done. Best of luck with her.

Wow - very sorry to hear about that accident. It's amazing how something like that can happen out of the blue - unfortunately it's impossible to think of every possible situation and prevent freak accidents from happening. Most important thing is that she's now on the mend. Next thing she'll probably do is surprise you every day at how quickly she's recovering.

Keep us updated.

You guys must be pretty shook up after an experience like that - glad to hear Shauna will be ok - sounds like it could have been so much worse. Stay strong for your little girl.

Thank all , Update they took out the drain and are letting her home because when they said she had to stay another night she started to cry so let her home (well she home now) she is very sore she got back to her bed room and as santa had given her the Wii her face dropped and said can not play that for a while, we just started to laugh, so she watching DVD's at the present and her best friend is coming over to see her soon, So thank God she is going to be fine but will have to go back for a check up in 2 week's time but they said she look's fine, Both elaine and myself are just so tired now would sleep standing up but the main thing is she is on the mend :smt023 :smt023 :D :D

John (and Elaine), I read your post and was horrified. I've three kids (they're 18, 20 and 22 now, but they'll always be kids to me). I've had some terribly scary moments with the kids down through the years, and when they've hurt, I've felt the pain ten-fold.

I can only imagine your feelings at seeing your baby so wounded. I'm delighted she's doing well. I'd offer my prayers, but they'd probably do more harm than good. I'll do it my own way and seriously hope she makes a full recovery.

Sincerely.

Jees, that's sounds like a pretty shocking evening, really sorry to hear that guys. At least little Shauna is on the mend, it's a good sign when her biggest concern is not being able to play the wii. :)

Holy bajingles! Glad to hear all is well on the healing front. Lots of jelly and ice-cream always helps the healing process too and I bet she'll be up playing the Wii in no time at all. :)

Great to hear that. It’s amazing how quick that recover at that age. And at least the scar isn't very visible, so she won't be self-conscious, but she’ll have a great one to show off when she wants!
