I've been on the look out for ages but on Wednesday last I finally got my recent purchase home... :D :D :D

Its a project car, lots of bits and pieces to do to her but she's basically sound - body is in good condition, engine starts easily (top tip - works better when there's petrol in the tank! ), gearbox good, exhaust seems good, new disks & pads.

Fantastic sound off the 4.5L V8 engine, rear wheel drive, and to top it off its a manual which seems to be rarer on the 928 than it is on the FTO (until the GTS came manual as standard later on). Dog-leg gearbox - reverse is where 1st usually is, 1st is where 2nd usually is, etc. I really need to remember that at traffic lights!!

Engine at the front with the gearbox & transaxle at the back so its got near 50/50 weight distribution.

I must get some better snaps... its actually british racing green, but seems to come up as black in pics.

FTO is dead safe, my daily driver, no thoughts of selling it in the foreseeable future, this is just a weekend car. Looking forward to having to decide whether to bring the FTO or the Porsche when going somewhere though! :P

Love the 928 - my dream car as a young fella.
Good luck with it though - its a tricky business running a supercar of this vintage.

Thanks... yup it'll be no joke getting and keeping it as it should be, but I know that starting out. Got one which is basically solid so that should give me a good start.

Just watched a full episode of Wheeler Dealers the other night on Discovery Turbo where they did a fantastic job restoring one of these - twas a brown one - some great tips on there about how to restore these though.

Ya, seen that a couple of times, beautiful job they did. Wouldn't mind having their budget!

Actually, remember those BBS wheels that were on it when they got it, apparently they were worth a fair few quid. Very funny watching yer man selling the teledials, the way his eyes lit up, and then did a straight swap at £30 quid a wheel.
