Postby kevinod » Wed Mar 02, 2005 10:41 pm

Been keeping an eye on this one, but it just shot way out of my budget... €615 as it stands at the moment!

Nice, I'd say Rory has been keeping his eyes on it as well!

Have done a lot of checking into this and while the base unit can be bought relatively cheap the problem is that you require a special cartridge for JDM mitsi models. This costs around 700+vat+ carriage from Japan.

Still keeping an eye out for the right one. But there is an alternative unit that can be bought from chinea that will do all mitsi models including the FTO. Currently trying to beat the price down a bit before I go ahead and buy.

MUT-II is the standard/protocol that Mitsubishi have for talking to the ECU on their early to mid 90s cars, including the FTO. Its only on Mitsis. Later/new models are OBD-II compliant as are most other manufacturer's cars from about 97 onwards.

You connect that yoke to the diagnostics port on the FTO (by the steering column), and it'll give you all the readouts that the ECU tells you, plus you can adjust various settings, check for errors, etc. etc.

Mostly just Mitsi dealers would have them.

I see it finished at €1,536!
