NCT Pass Fail relief saga

I got the car NCT'd this morning. The wife took it for me as I'm out of action at the moment. But this means that I didn't even get to give it a wash or a check over.

Thankfully it passed on everything except the rear reg plate lights so although it is a fail, it shouldn't take more than a few quid to get it passed. The emissions were perfect as were the suspension and brakes. I don't know why but I was very nervous about it passing so I've even held off getting the tax renewed.

I'll have to make it up to the car by spending a few quid on her now:

New Battery - current one lasts about twenty minutes with door lights and radio if the engine is off
New speakers (I've seen the thread on this)
Air con needs re-gassing (hopefully that's all)
Service (overdue)
I'll finally buy a trinket tray and get rid of the piece of plastic that I use as a blanking plate
Windscreen Wipers
Set of good tyres - current cheapies won't last this winter

Nice one... got mine on Monday. Good to have it sorted for another 2 years!

Was it just that the rear number plate lights were blown or something else?

I'd forgotten that they existed at all. One of them is blown and I assume that they're like british leyland - one out all out. So I'll replace it and I presume that that will do it.
