GPX Side skirts and caps.

Postby Myfeckin FTO » Fri Apr 15, 2005 4:00 pm

For sale :

GPX side skirts and caps - Steel Silver in colour though you could respray.
May interest any GS or GR owners out there - give the side of your FTO a slightly meatier look.

Don't expect much for them - but better than taking up space in my shed.

As pictured on the car - http://www.scariffrugby.ie/cars/P1200206.JPG

No reasonable offer refused.

DC side skirts.
Still no luck with the Version R - Japco do not want to send cause they're too busy / don't accept credit cards/ courier doesn't ship to Ireland - loads of reasons but after several emails offering alternatives I seem to have hit a blank wall.

Looks like I'll be paying Rory a visit for the Hiro (genuine) that he has at the mo. Its a bit aggressive but I don't think I'll get away with a Top mix front, DC skirts and a standard spoiler. I'm also gonna look into incorporating the facelift repeaters, fogs and halos into the classic bumper (dependant upon my bodyshop guys talents - not mine!)

I never say I'm keeping a car - 5 cars in the last 3 years has thought me this - but if I change it will be for another FTO.

This isn't gonna happen unless I can get a mould of the facelift lights or similar to fit into the classic lightpod - I don't suppose anyone has any ideas?

Looks like I'll have to settle for the Hiro and DC skirts for the moment.

I'm pleasantly suprised by how cool it looks in the flesh - its smaller than I thought it was - and its v rare to boot - haven't seen any in Ireland yet.

And funky product are looking for a cool £530GBP sterling for a genuine Hiro so it shouldn't be too hard to sell on - Rory sold it for a small fraction of this price.

Actually - It would look Sh1t hot on your car Dave - esp with the amount of work you've done to your rear

Well, you're welcome to try and take a mold of mine, dunno what you'd use though. If your panal beater is good, he should be able to work off some HQ pics, worth asking.

I'd be interested to hear how you get on with these as I'm considering a porsche 4 pot setup (off the boxster) for the Golf.

Thanks CJ - but taking off your bumper to make a mould sounds like a lot of work - sooner or later the UK guys will come up with it anyway - I'm sure it could be a lucrative business selling moulds to fit facelift lights into the classic bumper.

In the meantime I can occupy myself with other mods - starting with the DC skirts and Hiro spoiler.
I'll powder coat the alloys as well though not sure if I should stay white or go black?

MfFTO. this post on the FTOOC forum might interest you:

http://www.ftooc.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=31316

A guy has moulded facelift light openings onto a BS bumper, he should be able to advise you on the course of action to take.

Thanks CJ - Its similar to what Adie has done on his car - problem is these guys seem to start with a facelift bumper to begin with and mould on the bottom half of the Bozz Speed front. I have spoken to Adie about what he had to do to get his sorted but as above he started with a facelift bumper.

Its only a matter of time before the UK guys come up with a mould so I'll hang tough - theres plenty to be getting on with in the meantime.
