:smt006 finally got time to put up pictures of the mirage.
I'll be putting it up for sale in a few days so if anyone is interested just ask.
As you can see from the pictures its in good nick.
i'll be asking for 2,500 for it but will take a little less
It was my first car so will be sad to see it go as its a great car

Had this guy "mark" interested in the car. He send me an e-mail saying what my bottom price was and condition etc. so i send him mail back on the price, condition and photos.
Now i just got an e-mail back from him saying the price was ok and he wants it.

this is where it got stupid
He says he's getting it for his son in europe and he is sending me a cheque for the car and shipping costs as he lives in london and he'll send a shipper to collect it.
all he wants in return is my address and contact number.

dodgy or what. :ll

was talking to a friend thats a cop and they actually send you a cheque. it takes around a month to clear but in the mean time they ask you to reimburse them as the cheque will be too much and their cheque will bounch at the end.

That's a scam, run away.

Also take some better pictures :D

Take one from each angle and get the whole car in each shot.

+1
Pictures are brutal, wash the car hoover the inside. then take the pictures, as Colm says getting the complete view of the car into the shots.
While I can understand people obscuring the reg, when posting pictures on the net -for privacy reasons. I am always sceptical of the motive when the pictures are posted up in a for sale ad. Basically it looks like you have something to hide.
It is a pet hate of mine on this site and others when people comment on the price level without being invited to do so(That said once you post up on a public forum it is fair game) and without knowing anything about the particular car. So I won't succumb to the temptation to do so here. Suffice it to say that I think this individualwith a hugely similar car has a more realistic grasp of the value of such a car...

Is it a 1.3, I assumed it was a MIVEC given the price.

was hoovering the car but it started to rain so i just took some photos to put them up. As for this individual, these cars are worth more than what he is adverising. might be something wrong with it or maybe its just a bargain who knows. And the 2,500 is the asking price and not the selling price. All the other cars apart from the one you highlighted are asking for more also

Fair enough, as with everything the market will decide what it's worth.

Friend bought an 02 colt 1.3 for €2500 so I can't see this making anywhere near the asking price. I don't wanna ruin your chances of selling this or anything but a degree of realism is needed here.

I remember when I sold my blue tip GPX FTO for almost 6 grand 2 years ago, I also remember what I got for my mint manual GPX this year (much, much less) .

Things have changed.

When I tried selling the Z I got 5 or 6 emails from people claiming to be oceanists and the car was for their dad or brother in law. Promptly told 5 where to stick it, and told the lasy one that I was also an oceanist and asked what was their speciality and where were they based, needless to say none responded back.

yeah i got another one with a similar story but they made it blunt that they can only pay by travellers cheques.
All the scams are coming from http://www.add.ie, so i stay away from this site.
Next e mail i get it might be from some prince in africa and if a send over the car i'll get a 2 million reward. Its kinda annoying at this stage :|

Congrats!

He might be trying to save a bit of cash. A lot of people are very tight at the moment.
