You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen, it said 'Parking Fine'.

Combined turbo and supercharging is a pretty cool and fair play to VW. As with all golfs they will doubtless be expensive for the poverty spec entry level with a long list of expensive options. Still an appealing car. Will doubtless be a hit with the 'no fear' crew -you'll see plenty with lexus lights, dodgy oversized turbo and supercharger stickers, etc, etc once they become a bit more affordable on the secondhand market.

Wow that's pretty wild..

my GF is kind enough to let me drive her 1.4 Golf V whenever the FTO lets me down..it's a lovely little motor but the 1.4 75bhp is totally not enough for the new shape.. maybe with a pile of turbos and super chargers it'll be alright...

I suppose the supercharger will handle the lower revs & the turbo would kick in at the top end - so in theory there wouldn't be any lag..

Makes we wonder what they'd be able to do with the VR6 engine...hmm..
