Peugeot parts

Postby kevinod » Wed Dec 30, 2009 12:29 am

Anyone know a good source for Peugeot parts? A friend is looking at putting seats into the back of a 307 van, and going registering it as a private car, apparently tax would be 104 vs 350 as a commercial vehicle! Was surprised it was that much for commercial tax on a van like that tbh.

sounds really odd, that "real tax" is lower than commercial..

I'd try posting on boards.ie and octane.ie

Here's the deal.

Peugeot may have cut out the seatbelt mountings so that the car can't be converted back.
Your friend will be liable for the VRT to change tax categories
The €104 tax only applies to 08 and 09s, and depends on the emissions level the car was rated at when car was produced and whether it's a 90bhp or 110bhp HDI.
If any VAT was claimed on the vehicle then Revenue will be looking for it back.
Finally, if the van is on a lease/hp then you can't do anything like this.

Didn't think that Peugeot might have cut out the seat belt mountings, would be a good one to check out alright. And now that you mention it, VRT complication could be an expensive one alright. I'll pass that info onto him and see what he says... for a 250 quid saving a year its starting to look an expensive conversion. Apparently Peugeot wanted nearly 2.5k for the back seats!

It might also need a carpet in the back too.

Pricing all the little bits (seat belts, buckles, parcel shelf etc) will cure any longing he has to do this job!
