Postby fto999 » Tue Jan 27, 2004 11:31 pm

Hi All,
Now that I managed to get one ....... Can somebody tell me which oil I should use for a manual gearbox?
And how much?

Please and Thanks.

Martin.

Martin, heres what it says in the workshop manual:

"Hypoid gear oil SAE 75W - 90 or 75W - 85W conforming to API GL-4"

You'll need 2.2L of the stuff, Camskill sell Motul Gear300 Fully Synthetic which should do the job.

Thanks Ciaran,

I was in a bit of a panic as the car was booked in for the work and I had to get the oil. Eventually, after some varied advice, I asked for 75/85 and was advised by the Mitsi garage in Waterford to buy SYNTRAX fuk knows what spec but I think 75/90. " Sure, dats wha goes inta all o dem " ... and who was I to disagree with the specialist !!
I bought 4 litres (2 b sure 2 b sure) costing €22.84.
I'm sure it will be ok.
