SOLD: 1997 Mitsubishi Colt

Postby CJ » Tue Mar 11, 2008 9:20 pm

In preperation for the GX, the Colt is up for sale, details as follows:

Model: Colt GL
Year: 1997
Engine: 1.3L
Colour: Thurston grey
Milage: 59k mls
Tax: 04/08
NCT: 09/08
Price: 2750 euro

The car is in good condition overall and has been serviced by myself since purchase. There are a number of stone chips on the paintwork which is reflected in the price. This car is a cracking little drive with more poke than its engine size belies. Its also cheap as chips to tax, insure and run.

If you fancy a change from IT you should try the auto trade, you seem to shift 'em quick enough

Nice one.

I've thought about it but I don't know if I'm enough of a bullshi!tter for that sorta stuff (sorry Colm ;))

Stuck the car on Carzone yesterday and then on CBG (free ad, one pic) later in the day. Theres wasn't one viewing of the Carzone ad. One hour after the ad went up on CBG, a guy from Limerick called me and said he wanted the car, be came up on the bus this evening and drove her away, easiest sale ever. Carzone seems to attract niche buyers while the mainstream seem to hang about on CBG - I didn't get one viewing of the ad on Carzone, I want my 30 quid back!

Well I've heard it said before that CBG is for the mainstream, but I would not have considered carzone a niche site. The views on my carzone add are clocking up at some pace, in fact it's so consistent as to be suspicious. TBH I'm inclined to think cbg is a bit of a joke. I was getting approximately 2 views a day on CBG. And today when I try to access the site it won't let me search as the car data base seems to be inaccessable  But if it works don't knock it I guess.

The carzone view counter seems to have stalled since early last week.
You will always at least have scammers and robots looking, so a total of 0 is a bit hard to believe.

When I was selling my awful Punto I had a dozen calls inside a week of putting onto Carzone so I don't think it's fair to say it's a niche site. Still it must be frustrating to realise you paid for an ad for no reason.

Point taken re the niche comment - what I meant is that enthusiasts are more likely to hang around Carzone (in my experience), that said, petrol heads will check all of the sites when looking to purchase.

Agreed, it surprised me somewhat, a broken hit counter sounds possible.

The Colt is a very saleable car - cheap to buy, run, tax, service and insure. 3 series are common as muck nowadays and are tougher to sell - you have to pitch them at the right price-point to shift them quickly it would seem.

The week after next, all going well. Theres a big gap on my recently cobble-locked driveway that needs filling!
