Would adding some pro boost make up the difference, or is that a different kettle of fish altogether?

Most octane boosters are a waste of money, the claim 3 or 4 'point' increases in octane rating which actually means .3 or .4 i.e. it will raise your octane rating to 95.4 RON.

CJ, u could add some toluene to boost octane but then ur gonna have to add it from a container in the boot. not handy or safe!
but it will give you 100+ RON fuel :twisted:

Agreed, its highly flammable and carcinogenic, the problem is that you would have to use a 70/30 mix of petrol/toluene to get a 5-6 RON increase. This equates to 20L of toluene per fill, which is not really manageable.

I looked into this before, its mentioned in one or two posts in the forum, check out this interesting link for more info.
