heater matrix and gearbox ecu

Postby MY-JAP-MISTRESS » Tue May 13, 2014 3:25 pm

ok folks after replacing my heater matrix last yea it went again on me yesterday. sods luck ffs. this tome it dripped on the gearbox ecu. it didnt kill it completly just sometimes wants to change into random gears and tip isnt always working. ive saica gel packs packed round it to draw out the moisture. hope that helps it. can these be salvaged? this way and can wd40 draw out moisture or is that a bad idea?

Nothing will draw out moisture quicker than a hair-dryer. That's what should be done ASAP after a spill onto electrics.

I wouldn't go spraying wd40 onto it. As above, hair dryer is not a bad idea.

I bought a brand new one from Camskill and it was gone within a few months. They are really expensive and cleverly they have no warranty on them so couldn't return it. I bought a made up one from a website in the UK that Seb posted up for third of the price, with warranty, and it hasn't let me down since fitting.

PITA of a job to fit.
