Or not, XS don't like mods at all...

Liberty tried to put my insurance up by around 100. I got it lowered by about 100 and i got fully comp, which was cheaper than tpft. €511 this year.

Yea I'm really regretting not going for that 890 they offered last year now... Looks like they aren't doing the new business thing.

After a lot of to and fro-ing with liberty I finally got a quote off them!
€1800!
Im going to give the classic insurance with Campion a shot and see what happens.
1800 for a car I won't even be using for commuting and will primarily be a weekend car is just too much.

So you got a renewal quote for an increase of €100 and you then negotiated a €200 drop from this 'ask' ?

Nice work ! Any chance you could enlighten us on how your managed to talk them into that ?

I whinged about it on the Liberty section on boards.ie

My argument was that:

* I turned 30, so was in a safer age bracket.
* I racked up an extra year ncb.
* The new equality legislation should have lowered my renewal a little.
* I had no points, claims etc and none of my details had changed to negatively impact my renewal.

One of the girls on there said they would call me and I did get a call that day. Result :smt003

Oh and a bit of hypnosis maybe helped

Campion to the rescue it seems!
€400 for 3rd party with all mods declared and membership to IVETA.
5,000 mile limit is grand as I wont be commuting with it at all so I'm a happy man.
Just need to see what the NCT throws at me now

Good stuff - how are you managing the stipulation that it needs to be your second car?

I'm buying a main car, crazy as that sounds I can buy and insure a main car as well as insure the FTO for under what Liberty wanted.
Laura sent me a PM regarding another company so I'll see what the story is with them before going ahead with anything.

Sad but true. Same for myself.

Lets keep that name off the forum, don't want everyone jumping on the band wagon. If you want the details PM me.

The idea of the "Insurance" section is to share good companies, not come on and say "I got a great quote but I'm not telling anyone who with cause I don't want them to get one, nah nah nah nah nah."
If one person is good enough to be told, then everyone else should be good enough to be told. All are equal here.

I think what see means is....and I am only guessing but, if everyone with FTOs start calling the one company maybe the deals wont be so good in the future.
