Zed update

Postby Myfeckin FTO » Fri Feb 15, 2008 1:25 pm

Just adding a few quick pics I took of the Zed recently - hoping to get some better ones at the meet - especially if we get a bit of sunshine.

Crummy Pic of the Zed when I got her:

Some updated pics including recent addition of Ings Side skirts and Rear bumper, Nismo CF V2 rear spoiler, CF mirror and B pillar covers and lowered on Eibach.

That spoiler is excellent, really sets the car off.

I think I just realised what it is that I dislike about the Zed (never been able to put my finger on it). It's the shape of the front lights. They bug me. If I put my finger over them I love it!

Lovely example.

Very VERY nice indeed Feckin' The skirts go really well with the car - as does the spoiler - an more importantly the spoiler isn't taller than the roof line..

Might bring a few books along to the meet just to make sure it's functional though ;-)

Seriously though - very nice machine..

Its actually the first functional rear spoiler I've ever had on a car. The Nismo V2 was designed by Nismo to increase stability and downforce on the rear of the Zed. You can't see it properly in the photos but the rear blade has quite a pronounced curve to aid downforce.

Lookin' good MfFTO, I like! Are there CF bonnet options out of interest? Considered this route at all?

You can get pretty much every panel of the Zed in Carbon Fibre. However a CF Zed would look mank IMO. Theres also tons of choice in CF bonnets but as the standard bonnet is aluminium already there wouldn't be any significant weight saving - maybe a kg or so.

The amount of mods for the Zed seems endless. The fact its sold on the US market really helps that. I only have the kit on a short time and if I was to mod another Zed next week - I'd do it completely differently - I found it impossible to make my mind up on the kit.

as long as you leave the baffles out!! I was pulled up to a garda checkpoint and came around a corner and the cop said, "you were going a bit fast around that corner" I was doing maybe 15miles per hour, the cats just make it sound like you're flooring it at 2K revs!! I actually laughed in her face... don't think she liked it seeing that the spainish inquisition commenced then! :)

She prolly would have tore you a new exhaust though...

Thanks for the comments guys. Believe it or not a LOT less was spent to mod the Zed than my last FTO
- hopefully this'll do me on the modding front for a while.
