01 Avensis 2.0 TD €3250

Postby colm_mcm » Sat Feb 13, 2010 12:36 am

2001 Toyota Avensis 2.0 TD Aura Saloon

Just turned 100,000 miles today, and is in exceptional condition.

2 owners from new, NCT to 01-2011 and tax to 10-2010

Standard Avensis stuff: Electric windows and mirrors, Remote locking, ABS with EBD
Extras on this one: 15" wheels, chrome grille, colour coded handles, Toyota CD player, heated mirrors, Electric sunroof, upgrade velour seats

Engine: 89bhp 2.0 TD (last of the line 00 TD models, doesn't have the risk of Dual Mass flywheel or injector failure that the facelift D-4D model has)

Body is very straight, minor minor scrape on the front wing behind the light, apart from that excellent
Interior is as new
Everything works
Engine is unbelievably quiet given that it's a diesel and 9 years old
Drives really tight, steering/suspension in great order

Just got me from Dublin to Clare on under 20 quid

€3250 ono.

Pics to follow

That's a great price, those D-4D's are decent to drive too, watch out for the flywheel you'll hear a clunk on startup just as the engine catches - they're megabucks to replace.

I think I have this one sold anyway, I'd pay more than 2200 for a 01 D-4D so if you're interested in turning it over and making a bit I'd probably be interested in it as a car for myself. The TD is fine and they're unburstable, but I'd prefer the little extra shove the extra 20bhp gives.

I've had a lot of interest in mine too, scarilly I'm falling for it's fuel consumption and comfort - Went from Clare, all around connemara, out to Clifden and back again on a quarter tank yesterday. Don't know whether to keep it now or take the money and run :smt017
