Black Version R 1998

Postby finers » Thu May 28, 2009 6:37 pm

Well Guy's it's been good, unfortuantly just finished college, was banking on the summer job i get every year to tie me
over but with the current climate i din't get it:(. My plan is to probaly move to Australia for a couple of months if i find nothing in the next few weeks.

So sadly i have to say good-bye to my beloved FTO:(

just over 100,000 on the clock("will confirm once home")

High end alloys.
HKS filter,
The usualy V'r stuff, front and back struts,
Drop links were uprated over a year ago.

Never had a problem with the car apart from the wishbone which was replaced by Paul Nolan.

Regular services, including gearbox oil change.

Did all the services myself so only decent oil ever used, Maxol magnetic 10w40,

Radio with DVD player, 10" kicker sub in boot.

Prices seem very low on the market these days:(

so any reasonable offer accepted!.

€5990

A manual black GPVR Aero Series is a very desirable model, and it has a sunroof.
Hopefully you'll find someone on the site looking to upgrade!

That's Russmans old vR and is a sweet car - always loved it - he always used to give a little squirt of the accelerator passing my old house so I could hear the V6 ;)

Is this fto still up for sale? Im a very interested buyer looking to import it into Australia. It would roughly cost the same price as one thats already here but i current have a GPX that has too much minor problems that i dont have the time to get fixed. I was also planning on making it look EXACTLY like this before i even discovered this forum and post. If its already been sold ill be very disapointed :(

Also a 6k asking price for an FTO in Ireland is unthinkable. The best of them are asking for 2k and less. Visit donedeal.com and check it out.

Its an amazing car but I would think 3 grand. I'm always day dreaming about Version R's so any that come up for sale I notice, but obviously I'm not an expert.
Great car though GLWS

Afraid not. An fto would not fetch 3k in this climate.

I have spent well over 5k on my gpx manual (sunroof too 8) ) since I bought it for circa 1600 in October. It has had pretty much everything done to it and I wouldn't expect to achieve a 3k price on it. That's half the reason I wouldn't consider selling it. You only have to refer to my thread to see all I have had done to her. No fto in Ireland will achieve that price (3k) at this time. Also not that Stewy was asking for 2.5k and is now asking for 2k and his fto is the fastest timed fto in the country.

OT. But is it possible you could achieve your selling price if you sold it in OZ? If you get a solid interest from the fto club there, you could ship it to them. Just a thought.

Yeah and more. It's costs roughly €4,000-€4,500 all in to ship it over and get it on the road. Only slight problem is it doesn't have an air con system so it would be a sweat box. I'm trying to get an air con system over there at the moment

You would get a better price for Stewys FTO in Oz but that shipping price would wipe out any selling price differential there might be.

Been to Australia a few times now and its a great place to own an FTO. Perfect climate for cars of 10 years + and no year plate snobs.

Stewy - I would have taken that FTO off you for 1.8K a couple of months back. Still would only I just bought a 2003 Phase 2 Clio 172 for a runaround/2nd car. The car world is your oyster at the moment with 2K cash.
