does my 95 gr have airbags

just after coming from the nct and the guy put me down for the "srs" light not working when the car turns. Now im not sure but i dont think i have any airbags in my car, does anyone know here if they come standard or what?

I don't have any airbags in my FTO and I passed! . Is it compulsory or something with a limit on the age of the car ?

If your car has airbags then the SRS light should come on briefly on start up.

The passenger airbag is really obvious, facelift models tend to have them: pre 96 they're very rare. They're not a legal requirement but if they're fitted they have to work.

Airbags not at all standard. Most people don't have them - me included.

The tip gr I broke, Keiths gpx that is in the back of the fiesta and my 2 gpxs hadn't an airbag between them.

Wildhounds (now dilogat86s) ex army fto has one along with tcs and abs. The wheel is huge and looks like it should be on a galant or something

ok so i have been to three mechanics and they all have told me that there is no airbag in my car. Thing is i still have a srs symbol on the dash dials as i bought white dials from england and maybe they were for a newer model of fto with airbags i dunno. does anyone know of any website or something i can do day of test to prove to your man that i have no airbags, besides looking at the wheel coz they have looked at the car and put it down. im looking for a quick answer on this as i have the test next thursday.

Can we see a picture of the dials please? If you don't have SRS then what light is actually showing on your car. Have you taken a look at the old dials to see what light is positioned there?

Is your srs light symbol in the same location as above picture?
Sometimes with these dial kits you can get dial symbols that stick over your original symbols that may not be consistant witht the original dash setup.
For Example i bought a kit from the uk, that i installed. My car has ABS, but the dial symbol that was to over the ABS light location was a TCL symbol.

Maybe in your case there is suppose to be no dash light symbol in this location, but then when your dial kit was added it gives the impression that u have an srs light.

If this is the case all ya need to do is remove the dial kit piece that is giving the false impression that you have a SRS

i cant look to see whats underneath bcoz its all whired up and i think a lil glue involved. the nct guy said the srt light should come on as you turn the ignition. can anyone post here what a fto looks like with airbags??

OK - pretty hard to see anything from these links, however can you now let us know which actual light is coming on - show us the position on the picture you have provided.

If your car is the same as the last image in the second link then your car defo does not have airbags.(Image is clear for me may have been resized).
If we stay on this image, looks like the ignition is on from this image and hence no light is on in location where srs light would be.(on a car with SRS)
This tells us that this location is not used on cars with no airbags(like yours)

So if we now go to the first link of the plasma dials you have installed, the dial kit has the SRS symbol.
The nct guy, i would imagine is seeing this dial kit symbol SRS and assumming you have airbags.

You need to explain to the nct guy that this is an after market extra mod that has been manufactured for all makes and models of fto`s.
Explain to him that some models had got airbags. But yours does not and who ever installed the dial kit forgot to remove the srs symbol from dial kit before installing.

Seems simple to me, take the dials off because trying to explain that they are aftermarket dials will fall on deaf ears...

But the thing is, This NCT guy has failed the car for this issue, so it is recorded on the system for this issue.
I suggest you see nct supervisor and explain the situation.

Or you could just remove the srs dial kit symbol and show him.

Up to you mate, cant see it being a big deal.
