NCT vs Bits & Bobs

Postby Muad_dib77 » Sun Jul 15, 2007 7:04 pm

Lads,

Couple of things I want to run by yous.

1. Did anybody ever get failed for having frayed bits on their downpipe?
There aren't actually any holes in the flexi bit, but the mesh type cover has frayed.

2. I have a rather sizeable dent in one of my front wings, can that cause a fail?

3. How on earth are the headlights alligned?

My NCT isn't up till the end of september, but I'm very aware of the dimishing number of weekends in which I can work on the car - also I need to order in a few things. Drop links, Tyres, Rear Pads, Windscreen - the standard stuff.. Did I forget anything?

For headlights go to any garage and get it aligned as close to the NCT as possible.

I was charged 15 euro to do this but you need the tools to do it properly

as far as i know if you don't have any sharp edges caused from a deformed bodywork it's ok to go with a dent/scrach

All you need to adjust the lights is a Philips screwdriver, there are two screws on the rear of the light unit for this purpose. As was mentioned, park up close to a wall at night, if in doubt, too low is better than too high.

Mesh was completly riped off from a flexi pipe on my exhaust and passed NCT :)
