Do you have 'net access in work?

Postby CJ » Fri Feb 10, 2006 4:42 pm

I'm guessing that the majority of regular forum members on the site have net access in work, whats the percentage I wonder?

CJ,
By 'restricted' do you mean by time, content or both?

I was referring more to resticted access in terms of content management by something like Websense for example.

I think there's some restriction in what we can get at here, but I've never actually been denied anything. Having said that I keep it pretty clean via the work networks!

I'm a contractor so varies from job to job. Current place has restricted access- both content and time restrictions. While some sites are available 24/7, news and Financial sites etc, anything to do with non work related topics (e.g sport or vehicles) are only allowed before 9, between 12-2, and after 5, which is a pain in the butt.
But If I had my own staff, I'd prob go down this route too!

Haha., .yeah it's not great for the aul productivity..

having said that I've spent best bit of 2hours messing about with a roll of vinyl a stanley blade and the door opener/lock surround today...so I didn't really bother too much with the surfin' :-)

Some times it's bliss to do monkey work..

I could look at that and It would be considered to be work!

We use Surf Control here so it's relatively restricted but working in IT and knowing all of the proxy servers has its advantages : )

Like Kevinod, we have restrictions with regard to content but they are fairly liberal. Once we keep it clean we can use the net whenever we're free. That could be 10 mins one day or 12 hrs the next.. usually about 2 hrs a shift.
