insurance and NCT?

The car i put through wasn't an F.T.O so hope i won't get in too much trouble ere. Put er through the test and FAILED? surprise surprise!! Now my insurance company says they'll cancell the insurance if it doen't pass. I asked them if they could hold off untill i put ere trough again and she said she'd have to talk to her superviser??? Now in farness she's a 96 Hyundi (don't ask) put there's nothing wrong with er. Never abused as it was sister car, and always been kept well? any advise?

If theres nothing wrong with her why did she fail NCT?
As for advice on a 96 Hyundai - I presume its covered for Fire?
