Got mine done last weekend - flew through first time - and I've had the car in Ireland 2 years without bothering to get it done.

Met a bit of a b0llix of a cop last week and he persuaded me that it might be in my best interest to run it through the NCT when I got a chance

Yeah that is the only thing they do back date them from when the Car was first registered. As this happened to me too. But I fell lucky as I have got just over a year and a Half out of it
