175PS, fairly impressive for a 1.6L. Nissans answer to the toyota levin, civic SiR, mirage mivec. Never driven one myself. Admittedly the pulsar (aka almera) is a bit bland looking, but the VZR has some subtle styling that gives it a purposeful look. Much easier to insure than a civic I'd imagine. A genuine wolf in sheeps clothing. I like :!:
There is a dedicated VZR forum somewhere..........

Is this the insane little yoke that has 16v Twin cam and awd?

If yes then they're little rockets! But apparently the clutch is a weak spot.

VZR has chassis type JN15, I do not believe that thay were available with any other engine. I've heard urban legend that one exist but I think it's just that -urban legend.
The earlier generation pulsar GTi-R chassis RNN14 has 2L turbo 230PS, and 4WD. Perhaps he is confusing it with this car :?:

There's a version called the VZ-R N1 that is 200 PS (190 ish BHP I think). AFAIK there was only a couple of hundred of them made so they'd be hard to find I'd say.

A chap in one of those dragged raced me from the toll booth at Drogheda on the M1 in my S2000..... have to say it was closer then I thought...but I pipped him. Only to 75mph of course, the legal limit for the motorways!
