I take it you're not using the Tata Sport, is there something you need to tell us MFFTO?

My "Tata Sport" (v witty-Colm) has just lost 1,200kgs,gained an extra 210bhp and looks suspiciously like a Zed.

Nice one!

Is the Zed Image by any chance?

Standard RRS is 188hp, so you're packing roughly 400bhp

You could give MFFTO a hand and pull the Z on a trailer.... I'm fairly sure it'll be running a light fuel load on the day and might not make it all the way

The form says €50 for the drag competition, just wondering is this right Colm as you had mentioned €75 for this before?
And I assume I'll need a helmet for this?

Yup, as far as I know, helmet is required.as for the price, the original link I put up said €75, that page is now deleted. €50 is nicer anyway!

John,Elaine, George, CJ, Aido, Crazidane,Sebi and Bernard - I've put you all down for the club stand.
Modified Motors Live now have yeer contact numbers, names, reg numbers etc.

They'll allow us 6 cars (driver only) in for free (I'm gonna keep pushing for 8 free spaces)

organisers wrote:There will also be some additional paid spaces available for website stand on a strictly first come, first served basis. Let us know if you have additional cars for this.

Worst case scenario the 8 of ye will split the cost of 2 entries. still cheap as chips.

Then Me and Tom (and MFFTO) will be dragging, so a very healthy turnout of FTOs (10) indeed.

Entry for the drag here Shane & Tom

http://www.mondello.ie/images/data/gall ... 20Form.pdf

Sharon Piggott is organising entries for the drag.
sharonp@mondellopark.ie

We'll all send off our entries ourselves ok?

Just noticed on the mondello site regarding the drag.. "Street cars must contain all interior trim and be street legal, i.e. must have headlights indicators and full bodywork fitted and must be road worthy."
Does this mean no stripping of seats etc.. :(

I'd still take out the rear seats and boot trim/tools/spare wheel Tom - The rear and side quarter windows are dark enough that it isn't possible to see in anyway. I'd say these rules are primarily designed to stop someone bringing along something off a scrapheap and stripping it of practically everything apart from engine and drivetrain/chassis.

What is a bigger concern to me is that it doesn't seem to be a 1/4 mile drag but 1/8 mile?
The Zed would only be proper quick over the last 1/8 mile - not struggling to lay down grip over the first 1/8 in a 400bhp - 2WD car. Hands a huge advantage to anything 4WD.

Ughhh, if it's only 1/8 a mile strip, there's not much point, as you were saying, the Zed will only really come into it's own in the second half and if it's any way wet at all, you'll be wheel spinning the entire lenght of the strip!!

Damn it! On the plus side, there's a viable racing excuse.. :D

Yeah, I was wondering what length it was, there's no reference to 1/4mile on the website.

Would be interesting to see how my FTO compares with yours Tom. I know you've got the weight advantage (in more ways than one)

Yeah, they should be very interesting, similar set up, only the weight of the aircon unit between us really. Although you are much more experienced. :D

And even if I did beat you, you'd have an excuse.. if you were beaten by a GR or something on the other hand, that'd just be embarrassing.

Less of that! anyway, my best time was better than his best time :D and my tyres were crap.

I have a few more excuses, I just can't remember them all.

I heard that we have to be in between 7:30 am and 9am is that true as the track open's at 9 as the cars have to cross over it to get to the pad dock

I reckon 8.15-8.30 will be early enough for them. same craic at every show.
