i always found this funny

u people fill the tank with Litres , the tank is marked in Liters , the speedo is almost all the time marked in KMS , all the distances are in KMS buy still you calculate in milles per gallon ? !

were you at any stage charged by gallon at the petrol station ?

ontopic:
*keith there is another topic similar to this one i'm sure that if u use search you can find it
*My Fto does around 500-550 kms with 50 L of petrol on normal driving . Delighted . Best i got was around 700kms and worse was 360 kms.

Where do you get a full tank in the legnum for a 50? I often pay more than 60e for a tank, mind you I do drive it till the yellow light stays on!

I get 285-295mls..

I have an 80litre tank in the supercharged Zed though I usually only manage to fit 50litres in there (gauge may be a little off) - for 50litres I get about 250miles - So about 8km per litre or 19mpg.

Wow I thought you'd get WAY worse figures than that..I'm impressed! Have you taken to sensible driving?

Nope - that 8km/l figure is driving MfFTO style. 10km per litre would be fairly easily acheivable on a long run or driving a little more sedately.

Don't really think about economy tbh - you don't buy a car like the supercharged Zed/VR4/Evo's/STI's etc if fuel ecomony is a consideration.

I'm in the same boat!

I get about 15mpg from the RX-8 at present. (Same figures from the VR-4, the RX-7 returned about 11mpg on average). Fuel consumption figures are more about how you drive and your regular route, 20mpg out of an RX-8 is achievable.

My god 11mpg, thats just heart breaking, no wonder they say they're a pricey car to keep. Really only to be used for weekend driving then.

I used get about 19 or 20 mpg when driving down home, a 100km trek used take up quarter of a tank approximately. That was on a busy windy road with some really long straights for overtaking lots of cars and lorries so the Mi-Vec and second and third gear were used quite a bit. I dont think its bad considering all the times I drop gear or overtake on that road.

You didn't do too badly to be honest. I'm getting around 25mpg, which would work out at about 530km to a full tank. Though that's with a least a little Mivec on most trips, but not lots. Although if I wasn't driving in the city so much I reckon 30mpg would be achievable.

oh yeah..I have new data on the fto..

tank before last 690km
last tank 570km

am well impressed with that...

Admittedly there's a degree of granny driving involved..and most of my drive consists of a long straightish road where I keep a stable 2500rpm...bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum
