Hyundai Coupes are muck.

Lets look at the figures:

1.6 FX 103bhp
2.0 FX 141bhp (now bundled with 4 speed auto only)
2.7 V6 162bhp. (mated to 5 speed auto only)

Also, they don't handle.

The words sheep, wolf and clothing spring to mind when I see these - no matter how good they look.

Previous shape to current was pretty good IMHO.

But they're so pretty  Was an f2 evo I was considering. Though even the 2.0 SE had a good spec with standard leather interior cruise control A/C and the like. Admittedly they are a little under powered, but can be got cheaply enough to justify sortin the handling and tuning a little.

Agreed. the Hyundai Coupe's design is annoyingly close to the FTOs. If the Coupe had just had the right engines, and they had put a little more effort into the chassis - it may have found favour with enthusiasts.

The basics of the Coupe haven't changed since the first model in 1996. there have been no major advances in engine design, the chassis is pretty much identical to the model from 13 years ago, there are no huge safety leaps like curtain airbags, ESP etc. Even the standard spec is still pretty much the same as it was at launch.
It's one of the few cars to still come with a spoiler!

The Hyundai Coupe for me was always the last of the everyday coupes, when the likes of the Puma, Cougar, (proper) Megane Coupe, Calibra etc got killed off, the Coupe always soldiered on - and kept its hardcore of repeat buyers happy.

Can't wait for the Genesis Coupe to come out!

unfortunately I think the coupe in general may have had its day, the model seems to have been dropped from so many of the big manufacturers ranges i.e Toyota no celica anymore ,nissan , volkswagen, mitsubishi, ford

Renault revived the Coupe in the form of the Laguna and Megane, (which are hatchbacks...) both are nice cars. the Coupe-Convertible seems to have replaced the traditional coupe

I'm not a big fan of the CC layout. Nissan micra cc, Mitsubishi colt cc etc. T bars were a better variation on this theme like mkii MR2, CRX del sol, SUPRA.
