Magazine Article

Postby Tusker » Fri Jun 15, 2012 7:22 pm

Hi Everybody :D

My name is Adrian, Tusker on the UK Owners Club http://www.ftooc.org/phpbb/

Edit: Removed the German bit.

I produce our Online Magazine for the Owners Club (you can see if you click on the Magazine Tab on the main forum page), as it is an Olympic year I thought it would be good to contact as many world wide FTO clubs as I can find and ask each if they would like to submit photos and a car spec of one of your memberships modified FTOs for an Olympic Spot-On FTOs article, if you look at the Spot-On article in the magazine you'll get a good idea of what's required.

All you need to do is decide which FTO to put forward

I would also welcome articles from your mini-meets, club events etc for forth coming issues as I really would like to make the magazine global.

As I'm a newbie to the site I'd better post a few photos of my FTO

Willkommen bei FTO-Irland Adrian, schön FTO ;)

As it would happen, one of our new members from New Zealand is on a similar mission, perhaps you could collaborate?

As you can probably guess I had just posted it on the German FTO site and forgot to remove that line

And yes, I did spot that the New Zealand site is on a similar mission when I posted there, I hope it comes together, it looks very professional and way different to what I've done.

Hopefully you can all have a chat and agree on one FTO, I think it will make an interesting article and show what people are doing around the world.

Hi Tusker is there coil-overs fitted or did you just lower your car, just wondering as i am also running 18" Wheels Tenzo r project7 alloys with 225/35 R18`s with spacers find it very unforgiving. But i haven't really got a chance to give it a good looking over(ie...bushings,shocks) as i only have it 2-3 months just asking how it feels/drives or what you have done to improve things.

Hi Adrian - Nice FTO you have there - its clear you have put a LOT of work into it.

If we are going to put forward a modified FTO from this site then maybe one of the mods on here can set-up a thread where members can post pics and specs of their FTOs and other members can vote on their favorite.

Good idea Shane. A new thread with 3, or 4 snaps per car would be good enough I think. I will put mine forward when I get it back. I left her in a couple of hours ago. She will have no spoiler and black leather seats to be noticed the most. The rest is subtle work and some not to be noticed at all (underseal).

You get my vote Goz - you seem to be the one putting the most into your car these days on here. Let's see the thread and your proper pics.

Hi Dan, sorry for the delay, been working to much, it's on Tein Coilovers no spacers, I've had 4 FTO's all riding on 18's with various coilovers, D2's, RC's & Tein's, the Tein's are by far the best for comfort of ride.

Back on track, did you manage to come up with an FTO or would one of you like to step forward with some photo's and a car spec.

I've managed to get some excellent examples from around the globe and would like to see one from Ireland as well :D

Mine will be out of the shop next week after having some work done. It's by no means finished, because I still have engine dressing up to do, which will have to wait. A couple of the guys on here have cars ready to be put forward, but I'd be happy to throw mine in the pot.

As far as modified FTO's go - both Gozs and Stewys get my votes (nothing to do with the fact I owned both at some stage..lol).

We have some other very clean FTO's like Bernards, Lauras and a couple of others but they don't have a modified look.

Cheers Shane, I like the idea of loads of mods that you'd never notice.
Although I do have a fairly obvious black bonnet
