bought one of these over the weekend, well part bought it, between myself and the old man! 2.2 Vtech, nice motor, fully loaded, cruise control and all the rest. very quick car! 0-60 in 6.75 seconds! pity the looks aren't half as nice as the FTO, had mine parked beside it and i;d pick the fto everytime!

What year /model Dave?

Another contender for comparison to the FTO on the rolling road. We'll have to get that day organised.

it's a 95, not sure of exact model name, all i know is it's the 2.2 vtech, so i can only assume it is the same as say the gpx of the fto range! i think it's something like 190-200 bhp, not sure of exact figures, but yeah i'll bring it along to the rollers, it;s an autobox so not sure if he'll have the rollers set up for that cos there was a problem with the tip's the last time!
very quick though!!

Well, nearly right ;) the 92-96 2.2i Vtec is quoted at 7.1 sec and 185bhp. In reality, a GPX should have the edge over it, its just that bit heavier as well @ 1315kg.

i definitley seen it somewhere that it was 195 or there abouts!
and the 95 model seems to be quicker than the 94! don;t know why but this link gives all the 0-60 times and 1/4 mile!!
might have to do a practical test though to compare eh!

Depends on weather its an Irish car (183) or JDM (197), check this out for comparisons between models: http://www.preludecrazy.com/specs/models.php

According to a few sites, cars between 94 and 96 (mk3?) share the same engine. Out of interest, did you pick it up for a nice price?

it's a jap import, the guy we bought it off imported it himself!
we picked it up for a song to be honest, 3500, so couldn't really turn it down, polished it up yesterday (well i didn't, hangover!! the old man did it) and she's perfect!

Had a 99 2.2 Vtech Prelude (Auto) in the car pool in my last company - nice car - but no match for a manual GPX. I actually prefer the 95 model - its a far nicer looking car than the 98 onwards model.

What colour?? Any extras?

no not for the manual GPX, i prefer manuals myself but it was going for the right money.
it's got all the usual stuff, electric everything, sun roof, cruise control! good sound system, head unit is a bit dated though!

Ya, have to agree there, the new (98+) one looks really old or something, the 95 and thereabouts one is a sweet looking motor, fancied one myself for a long time, buddy has one. 2.2 vtec too, 4 wheel steering, all the bits and bobs/bells & whistles, black, looks very well. IMHO they look best in the wine/burgundy colour, but thats just me.

I love the back of the 95 shape ones but I dont really like the front, they have a mad looking dash board.

I much prefer the newer model, thought about bringing in a 99 type S from japan before I got the skyline but happy with my choice.
