getting alloys for fto what size??

hi all im getting a set of wheels for fto gx but dont know much about it will 19s 215/35/19 be okey for irish roads or be safe and go for 225/35/18 ???

It depends on the width of the rim..

Oh and I have profile 35 tyre on my 18s and the road gets VERY hard.. If at all possible I'd recommend going for 40s

35s look AWESOME though - I really dig them..but you'll have to do alot of swerving to avoid those potholes.

The width of the rim and the offset (how far in/out the wheel is in against the hub) will be the big factors.

I have 17s on mine with 235/40 on them and dont' think I'd like to go any thinner than that tbh, ride quality is compromised with the lower profile tyres, but I'm more worried about the extra bumps and bangs the car gets which can't be good for it over a long period of time.

That and your rims wouldn't be getting much protection, gotta be much easier to buckle the 18s on 35s I reckon.

19" 215/35 tyres will be so thin you'll just end up damaging your rims. I run 225/40x18's on my gti and I've already had 2 rims repaired from damage due to potholes. 215/35's will be a lot thiner than 225/40's
