Really?? I thought it would be alot more then that. Problem is that there are NONE for sale sesond hand in Ireland, not one. I think I remember seeing one for sale last year (00 model) for 38K?? Would that be right?

Just doing some investigation at the moment.

well that was just a guess, depends on how wel they hold their value, and at 60K for basic model and four years old....
plus the fact that there are very few about, unless you consider trying to import one from the UK.

Am thinking about that. have 3 in the UK am interested in at the moment but they'd be between 28 and 30K OTT here. Plus, buying blind from the UK is never a good plan!

Basically, took alot of your opinions on board about the SLK and then thought (even though I still love em)....only young once so maybe an S2000, a car I have always admired and that alot of reviews place hiigher then a boxster etc. But there is literally not one for sale in Ireland at the moment second hand, and that's from 2 Honda Dealers.

Anyone any contacts in Universal Honda Ltd in Bluebell, Dublin?

That dealer in Rathmines who always has the Aston Martins and Ferraris (can't think of his name) seems to have them on sale quite regularly... I think he had a 2001 model a few months back at about 45000...

Hi,

Des Cullens told me they'd be 32,500 for a 00 model now. Thats saucy cause I could import one for 28,000 average. Mind you, with buying here you have a bit of comeback if anything happened it, or does that not count for too much anymore?

:?: Adrian, how are you calculating the cost of importing a vehicle, how much do you add on for tax, vrt etc. or whatever else is involved. Just interested at the prospect of importing from the UK.

D, the only expense from the UK is the VRT, 21% of book value here. Each car is different but examples are:
1999 S2000 = 5230
2000 S2000 = 6950
1999 FTO about 5700
1998 FTO about 4780
--If the vat has been paid in the UK then you don't have to pay that again. Remember there is no Irish NCT (obviously!!) so that's an added expense!

I've been keeping an eye on available S2000's for a while now and the I don't think I've seen a 00 model for less than €36k. Fantastic cars all the same.

What about one of these http://www.type-r.org/forum/modules.php ... _album.php

There easier to live with than the S2000 and in the real world just as fast (unless your well competent with the rwd)

220 bhp with a funny LSD that makes it unbelievable balanced in the twisties and it turns a lot of heads,

They are mainly white but there is a blue, red and black available.

Thats my girlfriends car and she loves it pity its quicker than my GR
