bmw 316

Postby kizersozey » Sat Sep 12, 2009 12:19 am

hi guys, i got a call from a good friend this evening regarding her bmw 316i 1992 4 door, spoiler, metalic red (burgandy), she had it in her drive for over a yaer as her boyfriend went to work in uk and since has got new uk car, nct just expired 05/09, but milege on last nct 145000 when tested, milege now 147320, 4 new pirellis on 15" alloys lovely clean motor and not a bloody mark on it, untill last night when some yob smashed rear pass window, so she asked me to tow it away before its wrecked,

anyways i drove it home after jumpstarting it first turn, usual tapetty 1.6 but smooth car to drive. is there anyone out there who would be interested in the car. i'll get window myself and put it in.....sure its worth few bob to someone....shame to break it even though its only 92, but so clean and tight to drive, old nct report shows it got all new bushes, droplinks, tyres and so on.

yeah she's tidy little beamer. i'd say she'll fly through the nct as all work was done only 2000 odd miles ago on last nct, then she was parked up till now......similar story all over the country with cars lying up then got for a song

I sent a PM last night about this and I got an automated response saying it was deleted before reading?! Either way, I very interested in this. I think Im going to park up the FTO until I can figure out what I need to do for the NCT. PM resent again, Chris

Is that FTO still in the bodyshop? Seems like ages since it first went in.

OK, back on topic. Chris has been very quiet about his new purchase.

Ah no she's going well for me! I just didnt want to be driving the FTO any longer without the nct. She's a fine little car is this beamer! The bodywork is immaculate for a 1992. Probably need to replace a segment of the exhaust but other than that im delighted ith her! Thanks again Jason.

Oh and one of the lads is back in college in galway and he's driving through Eyre Square. Next thing a FTO pulls up alongide him. He takes gamble and shouts across, ''Hey, I saw the BMW you sold to Chris!'' He just saw the fto and put 2 and 2 together. Still though, you must have been a little freaked!

well had a bit of bad news today. went to get the exhaust fixed and was informed the cat is ruined. They quoted me €550 for a new one!! Just checked them there online and they can be got much cheaper so all is not lost! Anyone know would a 316 e36 cat be the same for all 92-99 cars? I presumed they would be, but on ebay the ad stated 94-95. Still though, even if it does need a new cat, it still works out as a great deal.
