How do you mean by not working?
Check the fluid itself, drop a little bit of it on a bit of paper and check th color of it and the spread of it, should spread out evenly and thinly and not stay in a small drip bubble. Check th color of it.
A little smell of it can tell alot aswel, if it smells of burnt toast its a bad sign.

dont no if this is a silly question but as when i drive in 3rd and 4th it goes in them gears but if i put my foot down it jumps into limp mode, also if i put it from trip to auto or to reverse it clonks, but have noticed that the output sensor under the bat tray is covered in oil and input nice and clean, are they ment to be like that or are they ment to be dry sensors or have oil on them, thats why i asked about to much oil cause it is really high,

Too much ATF will cause the gears to slip. Drain the gearbox and refill wih fresh ATF to the correct level and new filter.
Let us know what color and texture the old ATF is.
Not to sure about the sensors as iv never dealt with the auto box used in these but im sure someone will be along to lead you in the right direction.
Just on a side note. I know the gearbox used in these is similar to that in the mitsi leggy, changin ATF in that was a pain, you had to drain it and then with the ignition on but engine dead you had to go through the gears.
Or that may have been the diff, cant remember to well these days:-(
