Suspension

Postby RyanD » Fri May 20, 2016 5:56 pm

I am having the shocks/springs replaced on my 98 GPX Mivec. Can anyone advise on a suitable replacement part no. that is compatible with car? I am not looking for anything much different from what came on the car as new. Also my rev counter is not working and I think it might be the ignition failure sensor from reading this forum and other websites. Can anyone advise if this can be purchased new or is it just a case of picking up one as a used part?

Any advice appreciated.

Hi RyanD.

You can pick up a used IFS on ebay for small money.

I recommend going for Apex springs, which would be a very subtle upgrade from the original springs, especially if you're running on original 16 alloys. They only lower the car a couple of centimetres to take away that "on stilts" look. They are also pretty good value.

Original shocks is what you should be looking at in my opinion. I can't recall exactly where to get them since camskill stopped doing the fto stuff, but i'm sure one of the lads will advise.
97 Manual GPX. Icecelle Blue.
Other Stuff: Induction kit. Front Strut. Apex Lowered. 17" Kahns. Quad exhaust. HID lights. Glow dials and rings/cups. Black leather seats. Window tints. Sunroof.

For what reason are you changing them ?

You could buy all parts used.
