taking headlight apart

Postby CJ » Mon May 10, 2004 11:23 am

Has anyone had to remove a headlight and break it open using the 'hot oven' method? I replaced a broken headlight not so long ago but the replacement always lets a small amount of water in when washing the car. (ie. constantly misted up). I want to remove the unit, deglue it and then put it back together to see if I can get a better seal. If you've dropped a headlight into the oven, let me know as I'm looking for some safety tips!

Did you take the headlight apart in the end? I'm thinking of painting the plastic pods in silver so I'd need to take them apart......
