[FTO MEET] Todds Leap [15/16th Nov 2008]

Postby colm_mcm » Mon Sep 29, 2008 11:04 pm

***OFFICIAL FTO-IRELAND MEET***

I want to get some ideas from you guys for a meet in November.

In the past while we've done West Cork,Kerry,Clare,Limerick,Wicklow and more

With activities like indoor karting, outdoor karting, Classic car show, a blast through the post tunnel, and a little bit of having the craic and enjoying a few pints.

So some discussion please guys and girls. what do you want out of your next FTO meet, what do you want to do, where do you want to go?

Personally, I'd like us to venture north, meet up with some of the site members up there and see and do whatever the place has to offer.

Thoughts?

I'd agree that somewhere around Sligo or up the north would be a nice change. I know the problem some people will have will be the distance, but if it was well organised (and I've no doubt it will be  ), and we set up a proper mini-convoy from say Cork, Limerick and Dublin, and there were reasonable numbers, you should get some decent interest.
Personally I'd like to see a bit of karting maybe, should find a track new to us all up there?

I'm reasonably sure I spotted what appeared to be a large indoor Karting track in Newry last time I was up there...

just a thought

If your thinking of Sligo, There is a go-karting place just off the main Dublin- Sligo road, Been there a few times and it's quite good.

We've been there and done that. The roads to and from are nothing short of appaling, The weather was much the same on that day as well.

North would be good for a change, or someone up around there seeing as we've done a lot of south and west and east of the country, nice to give the other lads a small journey this time.

A border \ NI meet sounds like a good idea considering we havn't ventured too far north in the past. All we really need is an activity and a venue, keep the ideas coming.

Any of the NI lads care to make some suggestions?

It might be an idea for someone to post on the UK forum.
I'm sure there're northern owners on the UK site that aren't on here, a joint meet would be cool.

I still think this is a good idea..

Location is "up north" - but not miles from the m1

They have a few different tracks..
Looks like a pretty good place I think... also their car park is an alright size :-)

OK, from the voting, the 15th/16th looks to be the popular choice.
Have contacted Todds Leap and should hear back tomorrow re: avalibility.

Location is Todds Leap, Ballygawley, Co Tyrone. I reckon this will tick all the boxes, and it's something that hasn't been done before.

I need your opinions on this ASAP, as anything we do has to be organised and booked in advance. If you're interested in coming, please stick your name down.
