Hi fellow FTO lovers

Postby Aidan » Sun Dec 18, 2005 5:21 pm

Hi, I'm Aidan from Clondalkin.
I've been a long time lurker of this board and as you may notice this is my first post.
I have recently aquired myself a '96 Midnight Blue GPX. It's actually still in Japan at the moment but I won the auction on it yesterday. I should have it in Early Feb (fingers crossed).
I was really hoping to get a black '97 with a facelift bumper but when I seen the milage on the '96 I just couldn't resist. It only has a little over 22,000km on it. Thats only about 14,000 miles. It is barely run in.
I'm planning on putting a facelift bumper on it at some stage so I'll be on hounding you lot for advice :D

I have to say, I love this site and I'm delighted that I can finally interact with you guys

Here are a couple of pics:

Thanks deepseadcs.

The auction price was 520,000 Yen, which works out at approx. €3750.
By the time I get it here Id say it will have cost me about €7500 - €8000.
For a car that has such low mileage I think that's a steal.

Forgot to mention that the car is a manual.

Hi TheJaff,

congrats on your new buy! Its not the best time of the year to be shipping a car from japan though, lots of new cars coming over in the next few months so it might take a while to get a space on a ship.

Re the facelift bumper, check out CJ's guide here

MMMM! A nice clean and unmolested low mileage Manual GPX - good colour too. Fair dues for not getting hung up on the facelift issue either.

Hi TheJaff,

Welcome.

That a clean looking example you've found yourself there. Best of luck with her.

Hopefully we'll see you on the roads early in the new year.. *wrooum*
